7.4.1.2 Passage for Inclusion in Request for Proposals (RFPs)
Integrity Alert: Mandatory Compliance with Indigenous Community Procurement Ethics
This RFP is governed by the principles of the Pehta Framework, which mandates authentic and equitable engagement with Indigenous communities. We wish to highlight a critical compliance requirement concerning Indigenous community procurement.
Bidders are hereby alerted that any practices involving the use of Indigenous businesses merely as intermediaries to artificially enhance Indigenous supply chain participation are strictly prohibited. This RFP is committed to ensuring that Indigenous procurement is conducted in a manner that is both honest and transparent, providing genuine economic benefits to Indigenous communities.
Bidders are expected to demonstrate a clear commitment to meaningful and respectful partnerships with Indigenous businesses. Proposals must reflect authentic engagement strategies that contribute to the economic growth and empowerment of Indigenous communities, in line with the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.
Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in disqualification from the bidding process and may impact future procurement opportunities. We seek partners who share our dedication to fostering credible, confident, and comparable Indigenous impact metrics, resonant with the aspirations of Indigenous communities and the institutional investment market.
By submitting a proposal, bidders acknowledge and agree to abide by these conditions, affirming their commitment to upholding the integrity of Indigenous community procurement practices.
